The Giants played to a goalless draw with log leaders Vipers SC at the Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium, Wakiso.
In a game watched by a capacity crowd on the afternoon, the Sharks were a little depleted as they missed key players Tom Masiko, Duncan Sseninde and Ibrahim Kiyemba who are on loan from the Venoms.
Viane Ssekajugo, Lawrence Bukenya and Yasin Mugume were also out due to injury.
A bright start saw us force saves from Burundian goalkeeper to deny Karim Ndugwa and Geoffrey Sserunkuma.
At the other end, Fahad Bayo sent his header on the bar; Ayub Kisaliita made a goal line clearance while Emukule denied Bayo from close range.
The game took another turn in the 34th minute when Bayo was given a straight red card for deliberate handling of the ball.
From then, it was all Sharks in attack but the first half ended even.
Coach Deo Sserwadda made a change after the break withdrawing Sserunkuma for Ivan Kiweewa as the dominance continued.
Gadafi Wahab hit the post from a free kick while Mutombora was at it again to deny Amos Muwonge from close range.
Denis Mwemezi also forced a good save from Emukule at the other end as the game ended with no breakthrough.
The point lifts us to 10th on the table with 30 points and our next game will be in May when we visit Express FC.
