Wakiso Giants maintained the unbeaten run in the league so far by playing to a goalless draw away to URA.
Coach Douglas Bamweyana made a couple of interesting changes playing Faizul Ibrahim in defence ahead of Hassan Wasswa Dazo while Lawrence Bukenya started ahead of skipper Hassan Ssenyonjo.
The hosts started with aplomb threatening on our goal but the backline did contain all that was thrown at them.
A quarter an hour into the game, the boys settled and started to take control of proceedings with Joshua Lubwama combining well with Bukenya in the middle while Pius Kaggwa was a nuisance to the URA left back.
Lubwama saw his free kick before the break sent over the bar by Alionzi Nafian while Kaggwa beat almost everyone but his lay off for Ibrahim Kasule was well defended.
In the second half, the tax men started well but still the backline did a good job alongside Man of the Match Samson Kirya who made a couple of brilliant saves.
Hassan Wasswa was introduced for left back Alex Komakech in a tactical switch that saw Namwanja return to his favourite left back position and later, Tom Masiko and skipper Hassan Ssenyonjo came on for Lawrence Bukenya and Pius Kaggwa.
The changes saw the team regain control of proceedings but still troubled by URA’s directness which they fought hard to stop.
In the last minutes, Viane Ssekajugo and substitute Yasin Mugume were fouled in the area but referee Ali Sabilla waved play on.
URA had some late chances but Kiirya was equal to the task to stop them with fine saves.
The draw lifts us to 10th position with 10 points from eight games ahead of another big game on Tuesday when we host KCCA at Wakissha.
