The Purple Sharks picked a fourth successive win in all competitions with a 5-1 win over visitors UPDF at Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium on Friday.
A brace from Ivan Bogere and a goal apiece from Joshua Lubwama, Frank Ssebuufu and Viane Ssekajugo saw us maul the army men who got their consolation through Hussein Zzinda.
Lubwama set the ball rolling with a strike from 12 yards in the 5th minute after a foul on Ssekajugo before Bogere doubled the lead in the 18th minute getting at the end of a ball that hit the cross bar.
There was a forced change in the 40th minute when injured Wasswa was replaced by Edward Satulo and then a goal from Bogere in the 41st minute.
Ssebuufu got his first league goal two minutes later heading home from a long George Kaddu throw in to take a comfortable 4-0 lead at half time.
Ssekajugo put the icing on the cake in the 69th minute with another strike and Zzinda scored the visitors’ consolation four minutes later.
The score line could have been better but a couple of missed opportunities from the lads.
The win lifts us to 9th on the log with 26 points after 22 games ahead of our trip to Fufa Technical Centre, Njeru where Busoga United is lurking on Tuesday.
