Wakiso Giants bounced back from a disappointing defeat at Kyetume by beating Police 3-1 on Wednesday.
Joshua Lubwama scored a brace while Viane Ssekajugo added the other while Herman Wasswa scored the visitors’ consolation.
Lubwama converted a penalty in the 17th minute after Ssekajugo was fouled in the area and doubled the lead from the same spot after Eric Ssenjobe handled Atendele’s cross in the area in the 57th minute.
Ssekajugo made the points safe in the 63rd minute tapping home from a low cross from Frank Ssebuufu.
His second goal in as many matches since return from the four match ban.
Herman Wasswa then came off the bench to head home from Duncan Sseninde free kick but the Cops attempted comeback failed as we held on for all points.
We are now on 23 points, four points above the red zone with nine games to go.
Now focus shifts to the Stanbic Uganda Cup where we face Tooro United over two legs between May 2 and 4.
The first leg will be hosted at home before we visit the opponents on May 4 at Buhinga Sports Ground in Fort Portal.
