Our Stanbic Uganda Cup journey came to end in a painful manner as fell to Police on away goals rule despite earning a deserved 2-0 at the MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo.
Viane Ssekajugo scored a brace on the afternoon but a missed penalty by Joshua Lubwama came back to haunt us.
Lubwama saw his effort saved in the 8th minute by Tom Ikara after Ssekajugo was brought down in the area.
But the boys kept pushing and got in front in the 19th minute when the 10 half volley hit the back of the net.
Samson Kiirya had to be at his mercurial best to deny Derrick Kakooza and Fahad Kizito in one v one situations as the first half ended 1-0.
The hunt for more goals gained momentum after the break and in the 65th minute, Ssekajugo reacted faster to steal the ball from Ikaara and put it behind the net.
The forward could have finished them off in the 87th minute but his effort after a well worked move that involved substitutes Kasule and Kaggwa rattled the cross bar.
The win gave us a 2-0 win but went down on away goals rule after tying 3-3 on aggregate.
