Wakiso Giants endured a frustrating evening at the Kabaka
Kyabaggu in a 2-1 defeat against visitors Maroons FC.
Unfortunate Ambrose Arinda scored in either net while left
back Fredrick Kigozi scored the winner for the Prisoners.
In an evenly contested first half, Frank Ssebuufu tested
Simon Tamale with a shot from outside the area in what was the game’s major
attacking threat.
The second half started on a low note as miscommunication in
the defence saw Arinda intended headed clearance fly over Samson Kiirya in the
49th minute.
That awakened the lads to push for the leveller with Paul
Willa rattling the cross bar while Ssebuufu, Kimbowa and substitutes Tom Masiko
and Mikdad Ssenyonga were all denied by Tamale.
The defeat leaves us searching for the first win since
resumption of the league and in 5th place on the log with 26 points.
Our next game will be in the Stanbic Uganda Cup when we host
league champions Vipers on Tuesday March 14.
