Wakiso Giants can confirm that Fahad Kawooya and Derrick
Emukule will leave the club following expiry of their contracts.
The decision not to renew the duo’s extension was reached
following a board meeting held on June 4, 2022 that considered a lot of factors
including their disciplinary records while with the club.
Kawooya has spent four years at the club and was part of the
squad that helped the Purple Sharks to earn promotion to the StarTimes Uganda
Premier League.
In total, the defender has made over 70 appearances for the
club since 2018 when he joined as a free agent.
Emukule joined Wakiso Giants at the start of the 2019/20
season from Ndejje University and instantly became our number one following
the departure of Yasin Mugabi.
In the three campaigns he has put on the Purple Sharks jersey, Emukule made over 50 appearances in all competitions.
The club would like to wish them all the best in the future and thanks them for the services rendered during the time.
